Description

The pale blue flax is such a pretty flower, simple and beautiful. I wanted to design this block to have an old-world stained glass window pane look.

I added the extra piecing on each side of the blocks, but they can be easily substituted with a single piece of fabric for simplicity.

This is one of the four stained glass flower quilt patterns I designed.  You can find all of them in my shop. They are –

Scottish Thistle
Welsh Daffodil
English Rose
Irish Flax

Only Irish Flax is included in this pattern.

Irish Flax quilt pattern makes a 12 inch x 12 inch stylized flax quilt block.

There are two patterns – one with paper piecing only and one that involves y-seam. The resulting blocks look slightly different.

It is perfect for stand-alone projects such as a wall hanging, table runner, pillow or a bag. It can be just as easily incorporated into a larger quilt.

The pattern for this paper pieced quilt block is made and tested by me. It is in colour and clearly numbered. A diagram is also provided in the pattern.

Basic instructions for foundation paper piecing are not included in the pattern.
