Welcome to the month of October’s Wandering Camera linky party. This photography project has been a wonderful experience for me so far. I can’t thank you enough for visiting, for your lovely comments and for sharing your photos.
I experimented a lot with my camera in September. I took photos of subject matter that is new to me. I also played a lot with light, specially with sunlight. I like photographing into the sun to see what effect that has on my photos.

30. Mopped-up oil paint, the start of next month’s painting projects
Working on Wandering Camera and creating the Lego Harry Potter quilt patterns is hardly leaving me any time for other sewing projects. I have a stack of printed patterns sitting on my desk, waiting to be stitched. However, while I was going through some old photos, I came across a few travel photos from the past. I had to sneak in a little bit of drawing time on the computer to create this pattern and share a little peek with you. Hopefully I will be able to sew it soon.
As I was compiling the sets, I was thinking how looking at every photo always evokes certain memories for me. Places, surroundings, sounds, activities, just to name a few.
Then I came across this video. Photography is so much more than just learning techniques. So instead of writing a tutorial today, I will leave you with this –
Update – Unfortunately the video has been removed from youtube.
How amazing is that!! Lets keep those shutters clicking. Now it’s your turn to share. I can’t wait to see your photos!!
Badge to share on your post and website
You can add any number of links to your posts from the previous month. The posts should have photos in them, with a story or anecdote. Your project photos (quilting, sewing, painting, knitting, etc.) are most welcome. You can also write a new post to link up. Please do not link up posts that are older than the previous month, they will be removed.
Please make sure to include the badge or a text link back to this site on each post that you link up. You can also add the badge to your blog. I am happy either way as long as you link back :-)
Spread a little encouragement amongst each other.

Each of your photographs makes me stop and look closely. Soma you have such a way with a camera. I love that you notice the “little” things too. So many are worthy of putting on display as art too.

I just love coming here for your photo inspirations. You capture everything so beautifully.
I hear that N CA got some rain this week. That Napa river should be running a bit better after that.

Beautiful photos! It’s hard to balance the time for photography and quilting, but it’s so worth it.

I left a comment yesterday but it seems to have disappeared! I especially love the mosaic with the pens, leaf, clock and paints and I’m intrigued by that shadow. You’ve captured beautiful crisp colours in all of these pictures :)

Such a beautiful gallery, Soma! I like the intriguing shadow and the glimpses of your creative process. I feel ashamed for being too lazy to haul my camera around((

Another great month of photos, Soma…you have so many fun projects in the works…I will confess that hydrangeas are not something I have been able to grow successfully…we started out with 6 years ago and I think we are down to 2 maybe. We have had some extended dry spells and my thumb is just not that green!

Another stunning array of photos, Soma ! And what a lovely video…so inspiring.
Looks like great basil; I do love a good pesto sauce. Do tell your growing secret.
Love the coal and steel captured in glass.
And O, those glass pens. The Venezia paints conjure up in my mind bright, transparent colours. Did I mention the flowers. ;)
Thanks again for hosting, Soma. Enjoy…

Oh my, I am enthralled with this beautiful post, both your amazing photos and the video of the inspirational, visually impaired photographer. I watched the video, uplifted by his talent, his enthusiasm and his determination to use his extraordinary talent and gift. I sat glued to the TV watching the paralympics, time after time being moved by each athletes sheer determination and wonderful humanity. We can all learn many a life lesson from these wonderful athletes. As for your photos, Soma….WOW. Love the box of colours; how enticing they look. The venetian glass pens are beautiful as are those coal and train mosaic tiles! I am loving your Dryburgh Abbey in watercolour, so terribly clever, and the messiness of your desk brings a smile to my face. As for those hexies……well what can I say…love them! Your new telephone box pattern is very cool. Oh…and about Hydrangeas, they are what dreams are made of, aren’t they……….but your dream can become a reality………give them a try. Find a shady spot and water them to death and see how you go. Happiness is a Hydrangea……or two….or……….! =)

Thanks for a brilliant post – those venetian glass pens look beautiful and I love the shot of the bicycles.

So many interesting photos. Your cat is very spoiled getting it’s own quilt.
Paige October 6, 2016 at 05:18
Beautiful as usual, Soma! Try Hydrangeas, they are easy to grow. And what an inspiring story of the photographer!

Love your photos. I know we all need more time in our days so we can fit some sewing in.
